Then you can add individual pictures as required for the book. When you open up a project you have option to delete files from the project that are no in use. Please tell me there is a delete somewhere so I can start afresh and If anyone can suggest what to do as I can't find the answer in help. So what I'm asking is HOW on earth do I delete all of this as it is slowing everything up so much I don't even want to start using BS (( I thought stupidly that BS would only download the one highlighted file but no it has got everyphoto going and as far as I can see not even the ones highlighted!! Great start! Hi everyone, I'm embarking on my first book, finally! I thought I had set everything up correctly with all the relevant images sized etc, in one file which was pulled from a back-up hard drive and placed in a nice sensible place on my desktop. It would be nice if it just used the original already in iPhoto, and any edits to the image in iPhoto would automatically appear in your book, but that would be a smart way to go and BS doesn't usually do the smart thing.īS doesn't usually do the smart thing - there it is in 7 words I don't know how BS treats photos that are in iPhoto. (Like I don't want to work directly with iTunes' and iPhoto's directories–yikes!) If they are in the library and unused, I delete them using BS's interface, because I don't want to deal with the complications of BS's file scheme. I believe that will make them disappear from your book. I wouldn't delete the files from BookSmart's library. This is PC based, but must be similar for Mac. I think you will find them here: C:\Documents and Settings\owner\My Documents\BookSmartData. Plus the space that is required on your hard disc is masive Interesting technical stuff Dan enda but I don't want to find them to use them, I want to delete themĪnother example of just how shit this software is - I already have the file on my Mac, it copies and duplicates it taking more room and then if the original file changes you have to reimport The route so far has been Netherlands/Paris/Stansted/Inverness. Tamed shrew: I may not be up to date, but usually blurb books are produced for UK and others (NZ) in the Netherlands. A theory which I have not tested.) The other versions of the file are used within the BookSmart program and so are probably of no use to you. (The name might be composed of the hexadecimal values for the ASCII code for each of the characters in the file name. To retrieve your file, copy it to some other location, and change the "original" suffix with ".jpg" or".png" (depending on the format that you used originally.) There is no way to reconstruct the original file name from the name given to the file in BookSmart's library. (like "0cd3e068-21c5-43a3-813b-ce4ff38e2d0f.original") There are four versions of each image, having the extensions "original," "screen," "zoom" and "thumb." The "original" is the file you imported. The files in the library are renamed from the originals to some form of nonsense name that BookSmart uses. I hope you don't mind my asking, but do you know where UK orders are printed? Thanks but I don't need to recover them, just get rid of them If it isn't there, you should probably contact Customer Support. Did you make a backup copy before you deleted the book? My backup copies are in a BookSmart file in my Documents. Would still like to know where its storing them though Originally posted at 8:41AM, 18 October 2009 PDTĭeleted old books in the start up menu and freed up 40gig! Remember, this cannot be undone, so be sure you no longer need the book file.I know they have been duped into my system somewhere but I can't find themĪnybody tell me were it stores the pictures? (The exact wording may vary depending on your operating system). Right click on the file that you want to delete and select "Move to Trash" to permanently delete the book. Navigate to the folder on your computer named "Blurb" that contains files ending in. You can also view the location of your book file from the Welcome to BookWright screen.Ģ. The default location on a PC is My Documents > Blurb while on a Mac it's Documents > Blurb. Search for the folder "Blurb" on your computer to locate the book's. After you have saved your layouts, delete the pages you no longer need. We cannot undelete, recover, or return books that you have deleted.ġ. Go through the entire book and save your favorite layouts that youll want to use again. This cannot be undone, so only delete a book if you're certain that you no longer need it. To delete a book from your computer you must find the BookWright folder on your computer then delete the book file from there. If your BookWright screen is getting cluttered with books you started but then gave up on, you might want to remove those outdated books. You can delete these from your computer, but these books cannot be deleted from within BookWright.
